My computer crashed yesterday. It was the culmination of two weeks of random reboots, black screens and browser lockups. I knew I was at the dreaded point of having to reinstall Windows, or end up tossing my computer out a window. That was it.
Well, since I didn’t have to work yesterday, I figured it would be pretty stress free. I knew it would take some time to reinstall all those Windows updates and all my software, but I was ready. I was looking forward to a clean hard drive, and an end (temporary, cuz with Windows, the problems never completely go away) to my current computer problems. It was going to be worth it. That’s what I thought, anyway.
My computer had different ideas. It seemed to know that I was tired and weary, and it was determined to drain my last bit of energy and positivity. It would not let me get past the initial reinstallation steps. It would stall (just when it was time to wipe out the hard drive) and I would get a black screen. After two hours of wasted time, I began to wail from deep in my soul. I didn’t have a working computer, and my attempts to change my situation weren’t working. Oh, how tedious and tasteless was the hour. Who knew computers could cause such…anguish?
Jesus knew, and He heard my cry (the dogs next door did too, and started barking). I was finally able to get past the initial steps and life was looking good. Praise God! He’s good. All the time. Amen? Yes, Lord! I was ready to run around the house, seven times. I was feelin’ quite victorious. The real test, however, was soon to come. What happened? I’ll tell you tomorrow…stay tuned!
