Babassu Shampoo Bar
Approx $10 (US Dollars)
I’m excited. You must experience Anita Grant, if ONLY for the customer service. Truth is, you’ll get stellar customer service, and great products — a rare, but delightful combination!
I posted a whole….novel about my first experience with Anita Grant (aka “Shulta”), in my first blog (no longer online). Girlfriend is just amazing! I have yet to experience the same level of customer service, from any company — online and offline. Now keep in mind, Anita is waa-aa-y across the street — the UK. So, she could get away with less-than-perfect customer service/products, because of the distance. People would give her some slack, cuz she’s way over there, and they’re way over here.
But she’s a smart cookie, and genuinely nice lady. You won’t mind paying the extra money for shipping, because she is so….nice and she makes great products. The shampoo bars are her latest creation, and as soon as I get some extra cash, I’m sendin’ in my order. Sulfate free, ultra nourishing (Babassu Oil, Mango Butter, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Organic Castor Oil), and I can get some lather too? Yeah, it’s on!

Yes, I’ve tried her Whipped Butter — that was the first product I purchased. The shampoo bars will be next. She’s out of stock, right now. :(

[...] I see her company as something of an anomaly in the beauty biz — a genuinely family-owned company that runs on principle and heart, has a great reputation for customer service, and exclusively focuses on naturally curly afro hair. While Anita doesn’t see her company as an anomaly so much as a niche market, she certainly hopes that this is the beginning of a trend. [...]

I love the whipped butter. I plan to order more and the shampoo bar. Has anyone tried the pomade for defining girls or slicking back? I have been chemical free for about 3 years but my hair is still thin on top. I catch myself scratching there which is thinning my hair out. Any suggestions besides stop scratching. It’s a stress thing but I am no longer doing it just need my hair to grow back thicker.

Hey, Terri!
Haven’t tried the pomade. I plan to, though. I’m trying to cut back on products. I’m gonna need a garage to store all my stuff, in a minute!
As far as the thinning — I always suggest a visit to the dermatologist, when scalp problems are in the picture. If it’s the scratching that’s causing the thinning, I’m sure that there’s something that can be done to grow the hair back.
In the meantime, figure out how to alleviate the stress that’s causing your hair to thin. For real.
Blessings!

She has all natural herbs, like the BURDOCK ROOT, which stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss. There is also another herb that does this. It actually comes in the form of the real leaf, flower or stem, and you can draw out the herbs by soaking in water and mixing with oils. Her site gives a more than detailed description of how to use her products. I recommend it. I know that you don’t know this personally, but coming from me, that recommendation MEANS SOMETHING! Nothing I’ve seen yet has been geared toward “naps” but Anita Grant.
