I’ve been surfin’ the web, looking for more interesting blogs to add to my blogroll, and I’m coming across folks in the blogosphere who think “guestbooks for blogs are kinda dumb”. Well, actually, they’re not.

If somebody wants to say, “Hello, I really like your site/blog/siggy”, I don’t want them posting a comment to my, “Microsoft Sucks!” post — unless they wanna also comment on how Microsoft sucks. Also, guestbooks allow you to gather specific information about your visitors, that most likely wouldn’t be included in a blog post comment. Guestbooks are for general “hellos”. Comments are post-specific (should be, anyway). Feel me?
