WWJD?

Remember the whole “WWJD?” craze? I don’t know what made me think of it, but when it came to mind, I smiled a bit. I don’t have anything tangible to revisit (I didn’t buy any of the t-shirts, bracelets, etc.). However, I do remember becoming even more conscious of the fact that as a walking representation of Christ, I should be very concerned about what He would do, in a given situation — and that I should do likewise. Maybe that’s why I didn’t buy a t-shirt or a bracelet. Maybe I didn’t want people lookin’ at my carnal response to a situation, and then looking at my t-shirt/bracelet, and coming to the conclusion that I either had NO clue regarding what Jesus would do, or I wasn’t really interested in doing, as He would have done.

As believers, we are living epistles, read by men. The Greater One lives in us. People are watching us. They’re looking to see authentic Christianity — not this prosperity (name it and claim it!) junk. They wanna know how to live everyday, and experience joy and peace, in the presence of hardship/trouble (cuz  trouble is here to stay, regardless of what side of The Cross you live on). It’s about prosperity of the soul, along with good health and good things.

So, the next time you find yourself in a difficult situation, ask yourself, “What would Jesus do?”  Hopefully, you’ll know, because you’ve hidden God’s Word in your heart. Once the Holy Ghost brings the Word to your remembrance, don’t resist. Purpose in your heart that you’ll do what Jesus would do. Let’s pray for one another.

Amen!!! I know what you mean… For a long time, i didn’t put anything related to Jesus on my car. I mean, if you have road rage and you have a cross on the back, it kinda makes you look stupid…
I finally put an ithicus on the back of my car. Let me tell you… a few weeks ago it saved me, because I was pulled over by a cop and he told me my registration was expired since April 05… because i never got my emissions tested. needless to say, he told me he liked the fish on my car and my cross hanging from my rearview mirror. He said that he wasn’t going to give me a ticket and consider it the grace of God. It would have been a $250 fine. I told him thank you and that i was praying while he was checking out my info. He told me that God answers prayers. i know that’s right!! God is soooo good!! :D

    Moya,

Thanks for that! It’s a reminder that God looks out for His own, and that because of His goodness and mercy, He often spares us from what we should receive based on our conduct.

    Amen!

:o I am new to this site, but I just wanted to comment about what you said about this “Prosperity Junk”. I think it’s a shame that you could down something so vital to the body of Christ as “PROSPERITY” . That’s what’s wrong with us now in the body is that the enemy is eating our lunch “stealing, killing and destroying” . So many of us are being stolen from. It’s time to take back what the devil has been stealing from us. The word says that , ” beloved, I wish above all things that you would prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” 3 John 1:2:roll: Just my 2 cents worth

    @ Not So Happy

Thanks for visiting the site! I read your comment via email while it was pending moderation. While I understand the heart of what you’re saying, I have to say that you really didn’t take time to read what I said.

First off, I referenced 3 John 1:2 (the highlighted “prosperity of the soul” line in my second paragraph). The key line is…”as your soul prospers”. In other words the prosperity of the SOUL is the foundation. The health and other good things are side benefits. Important yes, but not the foundation for prosperity. Gaining the whole world (including health and things), but having an impoverished soul is not profitable (Mark 8:36).

Finally, the lack of “prosperity” is not the problem with humanity. The “Health and Wealth” gospel perspective is skewed, and causes folks to seek things, rather than the God of all things. So, it is “junk”, because the emphasis is wrong.
