My Honeychild Coconut Hair Milk
8 oz/$16
Available @ My Honeychild
Glad I didn’t listen to a few of the less-than-favorable reviews about this product. Yes, it’s thin and milky — it’s not thick and creamy. But that doesn’t mean it’s not fantastic. It is fantastic. I would recommend that Krika package this product, with a spray nozzle, instead of the flip cap. Because it is so thin, it’s great as a conditioning mist. You can even keep it in the fridge — treat your hair to a cold drink of…milk!
Let’s get right to the ingredients: Purified water, glycerin, raw honey, coconut butter, coconut milk, and comfrey root.
I had Krika customize my milk, just a bit — she added a little “banana essence”. It added a very subtle (it doesn’t smell like banana Now and Laters) extra “something’, that appeals to my love for all things that smell good! I do love the scent of fresh banana.
It’s totally non-greasy, and it left my braids (my hair, no extensions) super soft and conditioned — and lightly scented. Just yummy! Yes, it’s a bit pricey, which is why you need to transfer it to a spray bottle, so you can mist and not waste. Will I order it again? Yes, most definately.
Usage Tip: Mist your braids, locs, fro with water, and then top it with the coconut milk. Water = moisture. It prepares the hair for oils/butters, which “seal” the moisture into the hair.
I got milk! :)
