    Hey, NEA!

I will be broke if I don’t stop coming over here. I know your favorites aren’t in any order but if I had to just try ONE company, which one should I start with? I’m confused.

I can’t help you. They all make wonderful soap! Purusha was my first experience with Etsy, and I love her soap. Love. It. It’s very earthy, and I she packages it in brown tissue paper, with a very simple “tailored” label.

Naiad Soap Arts is a favorite, because girlfriend does some amazing stuff with soap — her soap is…GORGEOUS. She recently released a CP line, and the lemongrass is the truth.

I love banana, and Arcadia Aromatics has a scrumptious banana soap, called “Banana Royale”. To die for. Their “Got Milk?” is awesome too, although the scent is indescribable.

You Stink Soap is a Michigan company. Her soap makes me…smile. It’s great. She makes a “French Vanilla Pear” soap that is just…STUPID good.

BathLife has “Apple Mint” and “California Fig”. I wanna eat them, what can I say?
Just make sure you order the “Double Size Bar”, not the regular 2 oz size. It’s too small.

and finally…Soaptopia. It truly is. All-natural, handmade and HUGE. What else is there, really?

Did I help you decide? Heck, I don’t know. I have so much of it.

Have you received your blood orange soap? I’m not familiar with blood orange. Can you describe the smell?

Here is a site I stumbled across while ordering some soap dishes:

    http://jennylanesoap.com/index.php

She sent me 3 sample soap bars with my dishes! I have Hemp, Grapefruit & Ginger, and Ginger & Lime. Can’t wait to try them!

I’m still waiting on my package from Soaptopia.

    Toni,

    Re: Your Soaptopia Order

I never choose UPS ground, over USPS Priority Mail. In my experience, Priority Mail is faster, AND it’s cheaper. It’ll get there soon

It’s always nice to get goodies with your order. I’ll have to check out Jenny Lane Soap.
    Thanks for the headsup.

    Carmenesque,

It’s not so much the smell, as it is the…taste. I drink blood orange soda. The flavor reminds me of a cross between an orange, a grapefruit and a raspberry. That’s the best way for me to describe it.

Now, what’s gonna be good is how Erin mingled the blood orange and black pepper EO’s. I haven’t received my order yet, but it’s on its way.

Blood orange soda sounds fantastic!!! I love the taste of blood oranges, but have never seen a soda. Where do I find that?

Carmenesque, NEA is right, Blood Orange is a difficult scent to describe. I don’t know what the soap maker used to make hers, but I have a Blood Orange fragrance and would have to say that it is definitely orange and citrus with a little hidden something else.

I know that is about as clear as vaseline on a windsheild, but it really is difficult to describe. :???:

    Nandi

Blood orange soda can be found at Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods Market (I think) and other gourmet-type grocery/specialty stores. I think you can find a brand at Target, as well. I like the Italian Blood Orange soda.

Also, Erin’s uses Blood Orange EO, not fragrance oil.

Well, I purchased one bar of the blood orange and after receiving it along with a sample of the neopolitan soap, upped my order to two more blood oranges and two bars of the neopolitan which is outrageously smooth on my skin and smells delightful. One must be careful to use a dark washcloth with this soap as the brown portion of the bar discolors white cloths … nonetheless, it is off the hook.

the blood orange is worth it. it smells so orangy and ever since I was younger, I loved citrus fragrances and citrus flavors, lemon being my favorite. So using it brings back memories of my youth … try it, you will lub it.

    Laughing @nolita!!!

Erin’s soap is….AWESOME!!! Yes, the blood orange soap is just….orangey goodness! The neopolitan is wonderful, too. It reminds me of neopolitan ice cream!

I’m turning EVERYBODY into handmade soap addicts!

Have you ordered from Soaptopia lately? I received my order from them today. Not only do they still ship their items in the organic box…now they also include samples of their other products! I received a heart-shaped sample of the Rose Patchouli soap, and a small container of the 50/50 Vanilla Body Balm! Heavenly!

Nope, Girl I MAKE soap now, and I have SO much of it!
There’s not been the need to actually…buy any! LOL
I do wanna try their body butters!

  12. Toni on 13.03.2008 at 00:22 (Reply)

How’s the soapmaking coming along? I never did get my sample!
Do you have a website set up yet? I’d like to get a peep at
    your products! :O)

    1. A Nappy Girl on 13.03.2008 at 14:10 (Reply)

I haven’t given out samples to online friends, just real
      space family/friends. I haven’t forgotten, but I’m not giving
      out to everyone yet.

Girl, all this info on my blog, and you couldn’t find my
soap site? LOL!!! If you check the right, where it says “Me
Elsewhere”, you’ll see a “Soapmaking Blog” button.
