Yeah, I’ve often wondered, when seeing people like Benny Hinn and others in Africa, how the Word of Faith message could take hold over there when there is such poverty, if all one had to do was speak prosperity to the situation. If it were that easy, logically, there would BE no suffering. How dare someone so rich as Hinn tell them that he got his wealth in like fashion, and not out of the mouths of those in need!
Once again, a segment of society has seen, in Africa, an abundant available source of resources. This time, not diamonds or such, but willing souls to be plundered in a “gold rush” of materialism.
I was thinking the VERY same things — you spoke it. Now, the scriptures tell us that when we GIVE to the poor, we lend to God (Proverbs 9:17) — and that there is a reward. These dudes (and dudettes) take from the poor, and build up earthly treasures. Wow.
