A BIG Cyber Slap!

… to the person who emailed me, demanding to be removed from my “mailing list”, and accusing my soapmaking members of spamming him or her (the contact form shows a name of ”Irene“, the reply email came from “Larry“), with no evidence. This person is not a member of my community, so how would I (or other community members) have access to their email address?

This person proceeds to send me close to TEN (10) forwarded emails (after I asked him/her to forward a couple of the “close to 100 emails a day in my inbox from YOUR bloggers!”) from a Yahoo group, which included the email addresses of members, for all the world (my world, at least) to see. Now, this person is tryna call me out for spamming, while revealing the email addresses of numerous members, from an online community, who have absolutely NOTHING to do with the spam conspiracy. People wonder why they get spam? Look no further than the folks, who don’t have a CLUE about nettiquette.

After going back and forth, with me wasting time tryna make sense of that which makes no sense, I get a reply, with the name of a soapmaking supplier, and a statement that a “search” was done, and it led to…me. What “search”? Again, this person gives nothing for me to go on, and when it becomes painfully clear that they were out of line, in the wrong and off the chain, the dialogue mysteriously…stops. Good.

I’m reaching way down (to the floor), and coming back up, for this slap. Yes, indeed! :cool I just created a new tag, called “Cyber Slap”. Hope I won’t have to use it much.

:lol I bet that person is a member of the yahoo group, and they have their email set to receive messages in their mailbox.

I love the cyber slap tag!

You’re probably right! When I had an MSN Group, folks would join, and not adjust their email settings. They’d get a TON of emails in their mailboxes, and send me emails, complete with smoke and flames, DEMANDING that “I” stop sending them board messages!

Thanks for making me remember all that! :lol

    :thumbsup

I thoroughly appreciated and understand this post….we need to clean up the e-mails we forward and practice sound e-mail ettiquette. I don’t need to know who all has seen and forwarded the same e-mail nor does the people on my e-mail distribution list. I always delete any traces of others who forwarded and blind-copy the people I forward it to. But I’ve seen in the past where other’s don’t do the same.

Let me think who I need to cyber slap…..thanks for the phrase…….
