Nutiva Virgin Coconut Oil

My grandmother used to use coconut oil on my hair, when I was a youngin’…many years ago. When I went natural around 7 years ago (I can’t remember the exact time), I revisited my childhood friend. I used the drugstore brand faithfully, for a few years.

I stumbled upon Nutiva Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, about a year and a half ago, and my life hasn’t been the same.  I use it on my hair, on my feet…on my hands. It makes my skin feel like velvet, with an authentic faint coconut smell, that can only come from fresh, organic, virgin coconut oil…the real deal.  There is a difference between this stuff, and the stuff you buy at Walgreens. It can be taken internally, and used for cooking.  It’s my favorite brand.

I :love it WAY more than shea butter. It’s a great sealant for the ends, and a great pre-poo and after-poo condtioner.  I work it into wet hair, plait and let it dry overnite. I use it especially in the winter time, as a daily moisturizer. It actually penetrates the hairshaft, and protects your strands from protein loss….keeping it strong and healthy.

While I’m not familiar with the Nutiva brand, I can say amen to EVCO! And I love it precisely for the reasons you mention: I can use it all over the body. Hair. Feet. Arms. Leg. Neck. Nice fresh, clean-smelling coconut scent on the body. I alternate between shea butter and evco and love them both.

Just back from the barber this morning which has left me down to couple of inches of hair. The ten inches I was sporting this summer made it so that I was obsessing too much about hair. And the five inches I’ve been sporting lately wasn’t doing much for me.

I shampooed and slathered evco on my new crop a few moments ago and am happy to come online and find your shout out to the virtues of EVCO.

I just want to say how much I love virgin coconut oil too. Since I’ve been using it my hair retains more moisture then when i was not using it.

      Hey, Fal!
Thanks so much for dropping by! Yes, VCO is great! I’m so glad I have a jar, now that the winter season is fast approaching! I’m in protective styles, till Spring, and coconut oil and I will be the best of friends!

Try it on your feet, with socks at nite! Wake up to fabulously soft feet! I don’t even buy all those fancy “foot creams” anymore. Coconut oil has antibacterial/antifungal/antiviral properties AND it softens and protects. I’m sorry…I sound like a commmercial! :lol

      Again…thanks for visiting!

      :love

I love Nutiva, it’s the best tasting stuff, and so rich. My hair doesn’t really like coconut oil, but my insides love it. It’s great on oatmeal.

I have to confess…I’m tempted to eat it! It smells so good! I haven’t started taking coconut oil internally, but that’s my next step. I :love oatmeal, so I’m thinking it would be a good “first try”.

Thanks for visiting…and please leave a link to your blog, next time!
