Well…it’s a done deal. Barack Obama is the new president. Phew! What a ride! My grandmother went to be with The Lord almost 15 years ago, so she missed this monumental event in history. She knew it was coming, though. She spoke of it, a couple of years before she died.

I’ve got so many feelings going through my mind, right now — I’m excited, and hopeful and somewhat anxious. I know that there are those who are profoundly unhappy about this outcome, and I’m praying that our new president will get to serve a full term. I’m praying for his safety (his family also), and that God would impart wisdom and compassion. He will need every bit of insight and foresight from above.

The world is watching. I’m praying that he will get on the straight and narrow path — and stay on it. He can’t run on stupid. I’m beatin’ back the “Monicas”, in the spirit realm. Cuz if he messes up, it won’t be like any other president messing up. It’ll be magnified and seen as unprecedented, by those who never wanted to see a black man in the Oval Office, in the first place. Bush will seem like the “Neighborhood Ice Cream Man”, in comparison. So, I’m about to fast, pray and lay prostrate on the floor, in the formation of a cross. The wailing wall is up.

Don’t mess up, Barack.

We’ll choose who’ll run this country, for the next few years, in another few days. Choose wisely. Don’t choose because”…he’s black and I’m sick of white people runnin’ things”. Don’t choose, based on the fear of ” What will happen if the negro gets in office”. Want what’s ”right” (as close as we can get), not who’s ”black or white”. Don’t get tricked into tryna “make history”, just for the sake of…making history.

Look at both candidates. Look at all the issues, NOT JUST ONE (my dearest fellow evangelicals), cuz everything works together — the quality of life for those already here can directly impact the decision of a woman considering aborting her unborn child. The government is not the “morality police”. God gives US the right to choose — knowing that we will often choose “another way”, rather than His way.

Pray and…pray again. Trust GOD, more than Obama OR McCain.  They are mere mortals, not El Elyon (The Most High One). I’m cool with whatever happens in the White House, cuz I believe in my soul that “The President” doesn’t really run things. I will cast my vote, by faith, and not be moved, regardless of the outcome. I have vowed to pray for the next president — He’s got his work cut out for him.
